Green and Gold

Last Monday when the kids and I took a late afternoon walk across the hill into our favorite hiking woods, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for an October day.  The temperature was warm enough to go in shirt sleeves, and the sky was blue and cloudless — absolutely beautiful.  The barley that Anthony planted as a winter cover crop was the greenest green, and the trees were glowing gold.

Running home.

The views of our farm.
Half moon in a still-blue sky.
A Buck Moth we spotted on our walk through the barley field.   We found out that the caterpillar of this type of moth is covered in spines that sting.  Yikes!
