Here’s another favorite from my girlhood. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, Mom always cooked and baked from scratch. This recipe was an exception with the canned biscuits. I remember thinking they tasted so good (probably because I thought it was a treat to have something “store-bought!”), and I loved pulling open the tab on the can and being surprised by the “pop!”
1 lb. hamburger
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
salt and pepper to taste
grated cheddar cheese
1 can refrigerator biscuits (10)
Brown hamburger with onion.
Stir in tomato sauce and ketchup. Season with salt and pepper.
Place meat sauce in 8×8 baking dish. (I put mine in my favorite oval casserole dish.)
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Place biscuits on top.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Kids love this one!
